Kim Runquist, RN

Director of Intensive Care Unit

At a young age, Kim Runquist felt a calling to pursue nursing as her vocation, and she did just that. Beginning as an intern in 2010 to her current role as Director of the Intensive Care Unit, Kim's journey is full of determination and passion for helping others.

Upon graduating from nursing school, Kim delved into the world of critical care, finding her passion amidst the ever-changing dynamics of the ICU and never looked back. Kim finds that the relationships she builds with patients and their families are so important and rewarding. The trust that patients have in the ICU bedside nursing team is incredible. With a love for the ICU, Kim embraced the opportunity of leadership and became the Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Hannibal Regional.

Kim shares, “Hannibal Regional is unique. The culture is unlike other facilities, I have always felt my voice was important here and the leadership does a great job supporting bedside care. The care we are able to offer is unique even for our size, we have advanced medicine and the level of acuity is amazing. Leadership and team members truly care about you as a whole person, your work life, and home life, which is a key difference. I recently adopted two precious children and the support I received was absolutely incredible. I never once felt what I was going through was a burden on the organization. Team members truly lifted my family and I up during this time and that means so much to me.”

Alyssa Clair, LPN

Complete Family Medicine - Kirksville

Alyssa Clair is an LPN at Complete Family Medicine in Kirksville. She started working for Complete Family Medicine in September 2020, and wears many hats including rooming patients, drawing blood, patient education, sending medications, and documenting and scribing charts for providers.

"My favorite thing about working at Complete Family Medicine is my team!" Alyssa says, "We are like a family, always pushing each other to be our best selves, personally and professionally. CFM is constantly changing and evolving to adapt to the growing needs of our patients and community. I am honored to work alongside others willing to go the extra mile to ensure our patients are listened to, comfortable, and taken care of."

As a nurse, Alyssa ensures that patients are taken care of from the moment they are in the waiting room until she walks them to the door at the end of the office visit. Alyssa's coworkers say she always goes above and beyond for not only the patients, but for anyone she is helping out. She is always willing to help out with anything.

Christy Adams, RN

Surgery Department

Meet registered Nurse, Christy Adams, a beacon of compassion and dedication in the halls of Hannibal Regional. Christy brings 20 years of unwavering dedication to her nursing career. Having spent her entire nursing journey at Hannibal Regional, Christy embodies the essence of compassionate care and professional excellence.

From her beginnings in medical-surgical, obstetrics and nursing at Hannibal Children’s Center to her current role in surgery for the past 14 years, Christy has embraced every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of her patients. For her, nursing isn't just a profession—it's a calling filled with rewarding interactions and meaningful connections.

Christy shares, “The profession of nursing is so rewarding and there are many opportunities. I love interacting with patients each and every day. We laugh with them, cry with them and go through every emotion with them. Hannibal Regional gave me the opportunity to work in a variety of departments over the past 20 years of my nursing career. This facility is truly wonderful. We have an excellent nursing team, leadership and everyone is so wonderful to work with.”

Amanda Sevits, RN

Complete Family Medicine - Kirksville

Amanda Sevits is a nurse with Complete Family Medicine and cares for her patients with excellence and compassion. When asked why she joined CFM, Amanda says, “I was looking for a career change and was introduced to an opportunity to work as a medical assistant. I seized that opportunity which led me to further my education and obtain my BSN. The staff are what makes CFM so special. To have so many dedicated team members working together to better the health of our community is incomparable to any other employer I have worked for.”

Amanda’s favorite thing about CFM is her coworkers. “I absolutely love the friendships that I have built with my work family and feel very blessed to work alongside them.” When asked why Patients should choose CFM, Amanda says, “... because of the multitude of services and providers we have to offer. We are continually growing and expanding our services to meet the healthcare needs of our community.” We are so happy to have Amanda working on our team and serving our community! She is a great asset to the team!

Jamie Cook, RN

RN and Certified Diabetes Education Specialist

Meet Jamie Cook, a dedicated Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Education Specialist here at Hannibal Regional. Jamie brings a unique blend of skills to our team; she has a passion for providing exceptional patient care, patient education, and team member leadership.

At a young age Jamie was diagnosed with type one Diabetes. She did not let this hold her back and used the diagnosis as a driving force. In the seventh grade Jamie recognized her passion for wanting to help and educate others about Diabetes. Inspired by someone she knew who was a Registered Nurse and Diabetes educator, Jamie knew nursing was her path. After graduating from nursing school, Jamie went on to work in an endocrinology office while she simultaneously earned her Diabetes Education Specialist certification. In 2020, Jamie found her way to Hannibal Regional during the Covid-19 pandemic. She felt she was being called to Hannibal Regional and entered a leadership role as a House Supervisor. Little did Jamie know that her dream of becoming a Diabetes educator would soon become a reality at Hannibal Regional. An opportunity arose in the Nutrition and Diabetes Center, allowing Jamie to fulfill her roles as both a nurse and a Certified Diabetes Education Specialist. Here, she works closely with patients to empower them with the knowledge and skills to manage their diabetes effectively.

Reflecting on her journey, Jamie shares, “I feel my journey to Hannibal Regional was a calling. Hannibal Regional quickly became my home away from home. Everyone is welcoming, accepting and truly cares for one another and our patients. It is so easy to come here and get involved with groups of people with similar interests. The nursing leadership is so supportive, willing to listen and come up with solutions. If I could give advice to a nurse graduating nursing school it would be, get involved, find a mentor you can trust and chase after your dreams!”

Lauren Mueller, RN

Women's Care Unit

Women's Care Registered Nurse, Lauren Mueller, has been a team member with Hannibal Regional for about four and half years. Lauren shares, "My favorite thing about my job is that I get to work with amazing co-workers, new parents, and babies each day—it's such a great mix! It is incredibly fulfilling when you are able to help and support patients during such a important time in their lives. The culture here at Hannibal Regional is great, I absolutely love my team, everyone is so friendly and I feel I am truly part of a tight knit community!”
