The Hannibal Pirates Girls Soccer Team hosted their annual Kickin' Cancer game on Tuesday, April 29th at Veterans Field. During the starting lineup, players were escorted onto the field by local cancer survivors. The players sold apparel, pink ribbons and raffle tickets to raise funds for the Legacy of Hope campaign to support cancer care and services in our region. The team presented Hannibal Regional Foundation with a check for $2,000.00. Accepting the check on behalf of Hannibal Regional were Todd Ahrens, President and CEO of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System; Wendy Harrington, President and CEO of Hannibal Regional Foundation; Dr. Kevin Palka, Oncologist for Hannibal Regional Cancer Institute; Bob Hess, Director, Cary Cancer Center; and Wendy Johnson, Hannibal Regional Foundation Board Chair.
