Hannibal Regional Foundation is dedicated to supporting patients in all health areas across the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System and its Complete Family Medicine locations. While the landscape of the services offered by the system in the Kirksville/Complete Family Medicine footprint is growing, we realize more needs to be done to allow our residents to access care close to home. Currently, many patients lack access to cancer treatment at the local level. And while CFM/Hannibal Regional are researching bringing additional cancer care to the Kirksville area in the coming years, current patients must still travel 90 miles one way to receive care. CFM realizes this is a hardship to cancer patients still in the workforce, on caregivers to drive the individuals, on families, on employers, and on the community at large. Therefore, the Hannibal Regional Foundation is committed to supporting cancer patients during treatment with a Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.
Showing our commitment to the cancer needs of our community, we propose raising funds for a Cancer Patient Assistance Fund in FY24. Funds raised will provide care kits to cancer patients having to leave town for care. Kits will include care items needed for treatment and travel. This will help bridge the gap for many CFM/Hannibal Regional referred patients and their families during cancer treatment until local care is available.
