Biography

After completing his residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis, Dr. Bass entered active duty in the United States Air Force Medical Corp. For the next three years Dr. Bass was Medical Director and Officer in Charge of the Radiology Element, 48th Fighter Wing Hospital at RAF Lakenheath, England. During this time, Dr. Bass developed special interests in Breast Radiology and Musculoskeletal Imaging. After separating from the Air Force at the rank of Major, Dr. Bass accepted an appointment as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. During this time, Dr. Bass received additional fellowship level training in Breast Radiology, serving as Section Chief of Breast Imaging from 1999 through 2000. Since 2001, Dr. Bass has been in private practice in LaGrange Georgia and Fayetteville, North Carolina before coming to Hannibal Regional Hospital. Dr. Bass has presented several scientific and educational exhibits in Breast Imaging at national radiology meetings and has written a book chapter on breast imaging in gravid and lactating women.
