Rheumatology

A rheumatologist is an internist who has advances training in the detection and treatment of musculoskeletal disease and systemic autoimmune conditions which are commonly known as rheumatic diseases. These diseases can affect the joints, muscles and bones causing pain, swelling, stiffness, and deformity.

Everyone experiences muscle and joint pain occasionally, but when the issues aren’t resolved as expected it may be time to see a rheumatologist. Rheumatic diseases are difficult to identify in their early stages - what seems like everyday symptoms may actually be related to a more complex condition.

Our rheumatologist treats a variety of conditions including:

  • Lupus
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Gout
  • Osteoarthritis
  • General joint pain
  • Vasculitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Osteoporosis
  • Joint injection
